How to Know God Personally?

How to Know God Personally?

Message Text: Psalm 46:10; Romans 7:14-18; Titus 1:16

  1. SEEK TO BE STILL (Psalm 46:10; Psalm 83:18; Psalm 100:1-3; Matt 6:33)
DECIDE To Invest In Knowing God As A PRIORITY
    1. Find some silent moments to learn about God (Habakkuk 2:20; Zech 2:13)
    2. We will find that God wants us all to know Him (Psa 83:18; Psa 100:1-3)
    3. If we make knowing God our 1st Preference, it will be a blessing (Matt 6:33)
  2. SEEK TO BE REAL (Roman 7:14-18; Job 25:4; Isa 64:6; Mk 7:21-23; Gal 5:19-21; 24)
DETERMINE To Be Honest With Yourself Of Whether You Really Know God MORALLY
    1. We All Struggle in Doing What is Right (Romans 7:14-18)
    2. We All Have Messed Up or Done Something Wrong (Rom 3:23)
    3. We All of our Problem Comes from Within (heart – Mark 7:21-23)
    4. We All need to know that there will be eternal consequences for our actions (Gala 5:19-21)
      • We Need The Cross of Christ (Heb 12:2)
        • That cancels ALL the record of the sins of our past (Colossians 2:14)
        • That is able to give us eternal peace (Colossians 1:20)
  3. SEEK TO FULFILL (Our Life's Calling) (Titus 1:16; James 2:20; Jn 8:31-32; Psa 139:23-24)
DILIGENTLY Make It Our Mission To Know God FAITHFULLY (2 Chron 7:14; Jer 29:13; Psa 63:1)
    1. By Faith ... The Words that We Say (Titus 1:16a; John 8:31-32)
    2. By Faith ... The Works that We Do (Titus 1:16b; James 2:20)
    3. By Faith ... The Way that We Communicate in Prayer to God (Psalm 139:23-24)
    4. By Faith ... The Worship of Taking Up Our Cross For Christ Daily (Luke 9:23) leads to:
      • Devoting ourselves to God's Word every day
      • Disciple-making in sharing our faith & testimony to other people.
      • Dying to old life daily. Separate ourselves from our old sinful ways.
      • Develop Daily Holy habits. Discipline ourselves to practice right living.
      • Deny selfish desires daily. Say no to sin consistently.
      • A Destiny of Eternal Blessings w/God (Isa 55:6-7; Psa 27:4)

Scripture and Prayer of the Week (Combined):

Colossians 1:9–12 (NIV84) — 9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10 And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
